President Mahama announces the first round of ministerial nominations.

President John Dramani Mahama has announced his first batch of ministerial nominations, which were submitted to the Speaker of Parliament in compliance with Article 78 of Ghana's 1992 Constitution. These nominations are an important step in the President's efforts to put together a qualified team to drive national growth.

The nominees announced include:

Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson – Minister for Finance Designate

Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor – Minister for Energy Designate

Hon. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine – Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Designate

Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson – Minister for Finance Designate

Dr. Forson is an accomplished economist, chartered accountant, and tax practitioner with extensive experience in public finance, macroeconomics, fiscal policy, and business management. Dr. Forson, a seasoned member in his fifth term in Parliament, offers an exceptional academic background to his position.

He has a PhD in finance from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Master of Science degrees in taxation and economics from the University of Oxford and KNUST. He also received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from London South Bank University. His thorough understanding of fiscal policy enables him to properly manage the nation's finances.

Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, Minister for Energy Designate

Hon. Jinapor is well-known for his practical expertise, skill, and innovative approach to the energy business. His extensive expertise in energy economics and finance make him a perfect choice for addressing Ghana's energy concerns and driving sector reform.

His educational background includes a Master of Arts (MA) in Economic Policy Management, an MBA in Marketing, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Development Finance from the University of Ghana. He also has an MSc in Energy Economics from GIMPA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance and Financial Law from the University of London.

Hon. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, Attorney-General and Designated Minister for Justice

Dr. Ayine is a senior lawyer with over 30 years of experience in legal practice. He is a former Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice, as well as the founder of Ayine & Partners Law Offices. His academic credentials include a PhD in Law from Stanford University, an LLM from the University of Michigan Law School, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana. Dr. Ayine has also spoken extensively at the University of Ghana Law School, making important contributions to legal education in the country.
