President-elect John Mahama has given his assurance that the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy will continue. He made this statement to dispel rumors that his administration would abolish the policy.

Mahama emphasized that the claims of scrapping the Free SHS policy were mere propaganda. He stated that these assertions were made by New Patriotic Party (NPP) officials during the election campaign.

The Free SHS policy was introduced in 2017 to provide free secondary education to all Ghanaian students. The policy has been a significant milestone in Ghana's education sector.

Mahama's commitment to continuing the policy is a welcome development, especially for disadvantaged communities who have benefited significantly from the policy.

The President-elect's assurance is expected to bring relief to parents and students who were worried about the policy's future. Mahama's administration is expected to build on the successes of the policy.

Mahama's commitment to the Free SHS policy demonstrates his administration's focus on education and its determination to provide opportunities for all Ghanaian students to access quality education.
