Prof Ransford Gyampo and Yaw Domelevo are speaking out against the Electoral Commission's decision to limit media access at collation centers for the upcoming December 7 elections. The Electoral Commission has implemented new guidelines that restrict media presence at collation centers, allowing only eight media outlets at each constituency collation center and twelve outlets at regional centers .

Gyampo argues that these restrictions contradict Ghanaian democratic practices and the principle of transparency. He's urging the Electoral Commission to reconsider the decision, warning of severe consequences if the decision isn't reversed.

Domelevo is also criticizing the decision, calling for a unified response from the media community. He suggests that all accredited media outlets should consider boycotting the elections if the Electoral Commission doesn't lift the restrictions.

Interestingly, the Electoral Commission has announced that it's engaging with the Ghana Journalists Association and the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association to revise the media access restrictions at collation centers .
