Akua Donkor, the founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party, has passed away at the age of 72, not 83 as Roman Fada stated. According to Roman Fada, Akua Donkor felt sick on Saturday and was sent to the Nsawam Government Hospital, where she was treated and discharged. However, her condition worsened, and she was rushed to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, where she sadly passed away at 10 pm on Sunday .

Roman Fada, the vice presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party, confirmed her death and used the opportunity to call for peaceful elections in 2024. He emphasized the importance of unity, saying, "Let's use the death of our mother to remind ourselves that we are one people and that we should ensure that we vote peacefully and have our country in one piece."

Akua Donkor was a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, having contested in several presidential elections. She was known for her campaign promises, including free education from primary to secondary level and erasing import taxes to boost businesses . The Ghana Freedom Party is expected to release a statement announcing her death and their plans moving forward.
