The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region is taking a strong stance against any potential election rigging in the upcoming 2024 general election. According to Abass Nuredeen, the Regional Communications Officer, the party has implemented robust safeguards to prevent any attempts to manipulate the election.

Nuredeen emphasized that the NDC will not tolerate any misconduct or illegalities by electoral officers that could benefit the ruling party. The party is closely monitoring the actions of electoral authorities and their partners to ensure a free, fair, and transparent election.

The NDC has also placed surveillance on the movement of electoral materials and officials throughout the region. Nuredeen warned that any perpetrators of election-related crimes will face serious consequences.

Furthermore, the NDC is urging the Electoral Commission to take strong measures to prevent a recurrence of the challenges observed during the special voting exercise. This includes ensuring that electoral materials are not delayed to NDC strongholds and that officials who broke the law during the special voting exercise are punished.

The NDC is also calling on the Electoral Commission to ensure that officials employed to conduct the elections are not sympathizers of the ruling government. This is to maintain the integrity of the electoral process.
