During the recollection in the Gt Accra EC office, the presiding officer had the pink sheet.
The only people who do not currently have representation in Ghana's 9th Parliament are those who live in the Ablekuma North Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
After nullifying the first results, which favored National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Ewurabena Aubynn, the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has yet to finish recollecting the constituency's 2024 parliamentary election results.
Declaring that it was made without the results from roughly 61 polling places, the EC revoked the proclamation and mandated a recollection of the results.
The results of 13 polling stations were disputed after court battles over the issue, with the EC, the NDC, and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) arguing they did not have any pink sheets from the aforementioned places.
On January 8, 2024, the re-collation procedure was resumed when the pink sheets for the concerned voting stations were discovered.
Since the NDC claimed that the pink sheets used for the exercise were falsified, the presiding officers of the impacted polling places were asked to confirm the information.
The moment one of the presiding officers turned down the pink sheet he was meant to distribute was captured on camera and posted by Citi FM on X.
The presiding officer first confirmed some of the numbers on the pink sheet, but when he got to the part about rejected ballots, he was shocked.
There was a figure there that he said he didn't know about.
"The numbers are accurate, but as for us, no ballots were returned. However, I can view ballots that were rejected here. I am unable to verify that. On that particular day, there were no ballots returned, he stated.
