Baba Sadiq Abdulai, the Okaikwei Central parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is confident that he'll be sworn in as a member of the 9th Parliament on January 6th. This is despite the Electoral Commission (EC) overturning his earlier victory in favor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Patrick Yaw Boamah.

Abdulai asserts that the EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa, cannot subvert the will of the people by re-collating results in favor of the NPP. He's not alone in this fight, as he's speaking on behalf of other NDC candidates whose victories have been overturned, including those in Dome Kwabenya, Ablekuma North, Tema Central, and Obuasi East.

The NDC candidate has also issued a stern warning to the Majority Leader and MP for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, stating that he'll not be retained as a minority leader. Abdulai emphasized that the NDC is not afraid of a state of emergency and will not be intimidated, with plans to assume their rightful roles in Parliament.

The controversy surrounding the re-collation of results has been a hot topic, with the NPP winning 7 out of the 9 disputed constituencies. The results have been met with resistance from the NDC, who claim that the EC's actions are unfair and undemocratic.
