On October 12, 2024, Ken Ofori-Atta attended the Induction Service of the new Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, Most Rev. Prof. J. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, held at the Wesley Cathedral in Accra. The former Minister of Finance, dressed in colorful kente cloth, later joined the 25th Anniversary Royal Grand Durbar of Okyenhene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin. These rumors were quickly dispelled, though, as Ofori-Atta has not suffered from a stroke.

Rejecting the incorrect health rumors, government and New Patriotic Party supporters shared pictures of the former finance minister right away. The president's attorney, Kow Essuman, denounced the rumors as "wicked lies," while Koku Anyidoho posted images of Ofori-Atta from the occasion. "I recently saw Ken Ofori-Atta at the new presiding bishop's induction service at Wesley Cathedral in Accra, despite reports that he is near death and has left Ghana." Anyidoho said, "May God pardon us for disseminating such lies.
