The Chiefs and people of Anum in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region have expressed their gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for appointing their Member of Parliament (MP), Thomas Ampem Nyarko as Deputy Minister for Finance.
Me. Ampem's appointment, according to them, is a landmark development and applauded President Mahama for the historic and landmark appointment.
According to them, Mr Mahama is the first President ever to consider a native of Anum as a Minister of State in any government in Ghana.
Speaking at a press conference held at Anum over the place, Okogyeaman Kwasi Anyane V, Adontenghene of the Anum Traditional Area praised President Mahama for the appointment given to their lawmaker, highlighting humility and dedication as qualities that make the MP well-suited for the role hence promising their unwavering support to the government.
They however used the opportunity to highlight some challenges confronting the community and called on the government and the deputy Minister of finance designate to come to the aid of the community and help them.
