Friday, November 8, 2024, is not a public holiday, according to the Ministry for the Interior. The government stated in a statement on November 5 that while 2024 National Famers' Day will be commemorated on that day, it will not be a holiday. The official holiday will now be honored on Friday, December 6, which was the original date for Farmers' Day, according to the announcement signed by Minister Henry Quartey.
President Akufo-Addo confirmed the date for the 40th edition of the yearly celebration, according to a press release released by the government on Saturday, October 26. According to the statement, there won't be any regional celebrations this year; instead, the event would take place in the Greater Accra Region.
But according to the ministry, ten regional award categories would have winners nominated by each region. In order to be honored at the Awards Night Ceremony, which will take place at the Alisa Hotel in North Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, these awardees must travel to Accra. According to a portion of the release, "Regional Ministers will present awards to the honorees from their respective regions at this ceremony."
