Following the death of its founder, Akua Donkor, the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has named Roman Fada, also known as Kwabena Agyeman Appiah Kubi, as its next presidential candidate.
Fada Roman Prior to this, Akua Donkor selected Kwabena Agyeman Appiah-Kubi as her running mate for the 2024 elections. He is a well-known radio and television personality who served as DL FM's station manager before being chosen as running mate. His notice of succession follows the Electoral Commission's L.I., which provides a deadline for choosing a candidate following the primary flag bearer's passing.
The GFP leadership honored Akua Donkor's request that her running mate take over as the party's flag bearer in the case of her death by choosing Roman Fada to do so. In an interview, Roman Fada confirmed Akua Donkor's passing and stated that he was prepared to take her place.
The executives stated in their announcement that they believed their newly elected leader had studied their late founder and had the necessary understanding of the Party's history and what it stands to accomplish if elected.
