A statewide strike has been announced by the Ghanaian Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG), with effect from Thursday, November 7, 2024.
Dr. Isaac Bampoe Addo, the head of the Ghanaian Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG), This comes after notice was given on October 23, 2024, regarding what CLOGSAG characterized as an extended delay in deciding on a staff pay structure that would be in effect on January 1, 2025. The Association claims that the announcement is in accordance with the deadline of October 31 for the government to fulfill their demands.
Despite several discussions since then, the government has not yet made a firm offer, according to a statement from CLOGSAG. Because the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has operated in bad faith, they have thus made the decision to avoid all interaction with it.
According to parts of the statement, "CLOGSAG members have no other option than to stay at home from November 7, 2024, due to the delay in the completion of the salary structure and other conditions of service." Below, you can read the entire statement:
