Former Finance Minister has faced harsh criticism when social media influencer Kalyjay revealed that he and others were allegedly paid GH¢1000 for each tweet that promoted Ofori-Atta. #NSMQSemis, Botwe, Kalyjay, Augusco, Presec, and NGOs are some popular subjects.

The following explains why certain subjects are popular: Following social media influencer Kalyjay's revelation on X that he and other influencers were paid GH¢100 instead of the GH¢1000 promised each to promote Ofori-Atta on X during the cedi depreciation and the domestic debt exchange, which led to the government locking up many Ghanaians' investments, the former Minister of Finance is trending.

The government and Ofori-Atta are coming under fire from Ghanaians for allegedly offering to pay influencers rather than putting the money toward national development.
