Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the Assin Central Member of Parliament, has explained that the majority's absence from today's parliamentary session was not the result of a conscious boycott. As an alternative, the caucus was involved in an extended meeting. Speaker Alban Bagbin adjourned parliament indefinitely as a result.

In an interview, Agyapong clarified that, in contrast to what the Minority claimed, the majority caucus did not purposefully avoid parliament. He blamed the miscommunication on the Speaker's ignorance of their caucus meeting, which lasted longer than expected.

We were holding a caucus meeting, and our meeting just took too long; it wasn't a purposeful boycott. But even if he knows he can act as though he didn't know once there was no formal communication, I don't think the speaker was aware," he said.

Kennedy Agyapong clarified that when he returned to the chamber following the caucus meeting, he discovered that the NDC had taken the majority of the seats. The Majority Leader and other members were swiftly advised not to enter the chamber by him.
