On social media, a poster of Kennedy Agyapong, a former flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has appeared. Following the NPP's humiliating defeat in the 2024 elections, the Kennedy Agyapong poster went viral. Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia defeated the Assin Central member of parliament in the November 4 NPP primaries. With 118,210 votes, or 61.47% of the total, Dr. Bawumia was victorious. With 71,996 votes, or 35.52% of the total valid votes, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong received the second-highest number of votes.

Following the NPP primary defeat, the lawmaker voiced his complaints, claiming that several NPP members had offended him.
