It has been seen that a National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP has slapped Adansi-Asokwa MP K.T. Hammond on the head. This occurred amid a furious altercation between K.T. Hammond and NDC MPs following Speaker Bagbin's second indefinite adjournment of Parliament.
K.T. Hammond, who appeared to be unhappy with the Speaker's choice, was heard yelling and inquiring, "Where is Ato (Forson)? Be a leader. Bagbin is not Ghana, and his behavior is not commendable. It was observed that a few NDC MPs reprimanded the NPP for not attending parliament and shoved K.T. Hammond.
Suddenly, after speaking to K.T. Hammond in a low voice, a female MP was observed striking him on his bald head. Parliament has once again been halted indefinitely by Speaker Alban Bagbin.
This comes when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) members of parliament failed to show up for class today, November 7, 2024. The members of the NPP who demanded that parliament be recalled did not show up for class. We are forced to postpone the house meeting once more due to the business committee's inability to convene, which was caused by the refusal of those who requested the recall to appear.
It is not wise to be adjourning on a daily basis given the difficulties we are experiencing. I will therefore go ahead and adjourn the meeting indefinitely once more. And in accordance with it, the meeting—this extraordinary meeting—is adjourned," Speaker Bagbin said.
