The devastating news of a newlywed woman's death on her wedding day has left her friends and family in shock.
On October 26, 2024, the sad event took place in Douala, Cameroon. The woman, Sorelle Emmanuella Kamga, was performing happily at her own wedding reception when she abruptly fell and was pronounced dead by medical professionals. When the video of her performing with her bridesmaids and hubby splattering money at her became popular on social media on October 27, news of her untimely death spread.
Guests were seen looking shocked as Sorelle, wearing her stunning bridal party attire, sagged as she sang for her husband. According to a photographer filming the event, she was singing the song "Mogo Fariman," which is by Ivorian artist Roseline Layo. The song was picked by the celebrant to herald the cutting of the wedding cake, but the ceremony was never held because of her untimely death, which ruined the reception.
Following the tragic and upsetting event, the Johannesburg Hotel's reception hall, where the wedding celebration was being held, abruptly went cold. "The bride went out to change her attire with her husband when it was time to cut the wedding cake," the photographer recalled. When she got back to the hall, she picked up the microphone and began to sing for her husband. She invited her spouse to take the stage with her.
"A ten thousand note first, then another ten thousand note...She sagged in front of him when the man flung the third one, and that was it. "On Saturday, we witnessed something quite terrible at the hotel. People hurried to the victim's aid right away. She was taken in a hurry to Akwa-Nord's Adlucem Hospital. She was referred to the Douala General Hospital by the on-duty medics there. "She was clinically pronounced dead at the General Hospital."
According to the photographer, the reception's mood darkened as soon as the bride's death was revealed. People who had arrived to celebrate the wedding abruptly turned to mourning. After learning of the bride's unexpected passing, three of the guests reportedly passed out. A few hours prior to the tragic event, the now-deceased Sorelle was ecstatic, indulging in food and organizing the wedding's décor. The thought of the day ending without her was unthinkable to many. Family sources claim that Manuella Kamga and Émile, her spouse, had three children during their seven years of marriage. Their 2020 wedding was originally scheduled, however it was postponed because of COVID-19.
A family member stated: "We delayed the wedding this year; the civil wedding took place yesterday (Saturday), after the dowry was paid on Friday. The tragedy that took place in the center of the hall happened during the reception. After wearing her wedding ring for only a few hours, my little cousin leaves behind a husband and three adorable young daughters. Our family has also been affected by what we frequently read on Facebook about people dying on their wedding day. "May Sorelle Manuella rest in peace." Visit the Guardian Post Cameroon website.
