Oheneba Boamah, a media personality from Ghana, has caused controversy by announcing that if former President and President-elect John Dramani Mahama re-appoints George Akuffo Dampare as Inspector General of Police (IGP) in 2025, he will lead a nude protest. Discussions concerning political lobbying and the future of Ghana's police leadership have been triggered by his comments. Speaking from his platform, Boamah charged that some people had used dishonest tactics to lobby for important jobs in Mahama's new administration. He specifically targeted IGP Dampare, claiming that he is using deceit to keep his job even though he is not qualified for it.

Boamah asserted, "Some people have started using back doors to lobby for positions from President John Mahama." They were unwinding and acting like experts during the time we were at war. They stated that they did not wish to cause problems for the ongoing conflict. It doesn't hurt anyone, including IGP Dampare, if you obtain a job from John Mahama. He is trying to keep his IGP position by employing back doors, but it isn't working. The vocal media personality went one step further, calling Dampare a "dangerous politician" and accusing him of having unresolved issues. He suggested that keeping Dampare would upset a lot of police officers and cautioned Mahama against doing so.

He swore, "I will lead a naked demonstration against you if John Mahama appoints you as IGP." This is because we need to investigate your problems. IGP Dampare is among the most dangerous politicians in this nation. I implore you, President Mahama, to fire Dampare so he can return home sooner. Dampare is the IGP you should fire if you have any. The police officers will be pleased with this. Remaining tensions within Ghana's political and security sectors are highlighted by Oheneba Boamah's remarks. Dampare has received accolades from many for his professional policing style, yet he has also come under fire from other places.

Discussions about important appointments, such as the IGP, are anticipated to take center stage as Ghana gets ready for a change of leadership. It is unclear if Mahama would keep Dampare or name a new police head, but Boamah's scathing comments have surely set the stage for what may be a difficult choice.
