Akosua Asaa Manu, popularly known as Kozie, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Adentan constituency in the Greater Accra region, has initiated the construction of major roads in the area.

On November 25, 2024, the NPP PC commissioned the Container-Lakeside Road, which was financed and constructed by her. The road project, covering approximately 2.7 kilometres, commenced in July 2024 and aimed to address longstanding infrastructural challenges in the constituency.

Kozie, who doubles as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Authority (NYA), highlighted the poor condition of the Container-Lakeside Road and its impact on the community during the commissioning.

According to her, the then-depilated road has now seen a facelift.

She stated that she aspires to become the MP for the area to serve humanity and not engage in partisan politics.

“I didn’t do this because of votes but to serve humanity. I am a member of the Adentan constituency, and if my people are suffering, I have to step in to offer my support. Drivers were complaining, and going to work to and fro was a challenge for people living around the enclave, so I stepped in. In barely four months, we have been able to complete the road for them. I aim to do more for the constituency should the mandate be given to me.”



She called on residents to support her bid to go into parliament and lobby more for developmental projects in the constituency.



Kozie has also initiated the construction of other road projects in the constituency, including a minor road at Adenta Ashiyie-Amanfrom.

“We have suffered for long. When you hire a taxi, the driver's charges are very high because of the roads. And first, if it rains, it becomes difficult to pass on the road, so we thank her,” a resident said.

“I used to get to work late and dirty as well because of the dust. By the time I get to work, my dress is always dirty. Even though I don’t like politics, I think she has done well, and as a woman, I wish to support her even though my vote alone cannot make her win,” another added.
