The Chairperson of the People’s National Party (PNP), Janet Asana Nabla, has strongly opposed the appointment of Samuel Nartey George as the Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation designate, labeling him as “irresponsible.”

Nabla’s remarks were in response to a statement by Sam George in which he mentioned that his wife takes care of him. Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Nabla criticized George’s stance, arguing that traditionally, a man is expected to fulfill his marital responsibilities.

“I do not understand why Sam George would allow a woman to perform his duties,” she stated, emphasizing that leadership roles should be entrusted to responsible individuals.

She further expressed concerns over the suitability of many Members of Parliament (MPs) for leadership positions, asserting that appointing irresponsible individuals has contributed to Ghana’s stagnation.

“Talking about irresponsibility, if someone is irresponsible, even when you give him a position, he will still be irresponsible,” she remarked.

Nabla maintained that placing individuals she deems irresponsible in ministerial roles hinders national progress and urged Ghanaian leaders to be more discerning in their appointments.

“Irresponsible men should not be given positions in this country, and this man cannot be given ministerial appointments… If a woman performs the duties of a man, it indicates that the person is irresponsible,” Nabla stated in her interview with Saddick Adams.
