Renowned radio presenter Bernard Avle of Citi FM has lauded the "Beyond the Return" initiative, describing it as one of the most successful programs introduced by the NPP government.

Speaking as the main Master of Ceremonies at the Beyond the Return Summit held on Monday, December 23, 2024, Bernard Avle emphasized the program’s immense impact and urged its continuation.

In his remarks, Bernard Avle stated, "Any reasonable person will agree that 'Beyond the Return' is one of the most successful initiatives of this government, and it should undoubtedly continue."

As Ghana prepares for a new government to take office on January 7, 2025, Bernard Avle expressed uncertainty about the future of the initiative, adding, "I don’t know what the new government will decide, but I strongly believe this program should not be abandoned. Its potential to transform Ghana’s tourism and economy is undeniable."

About the Summit
The Beyond the Return Summit, themed Beyond New Horizon, took place at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) head office in Accra. This dynamic business summit is designed to build on the successes of the "Beyond the Return" program and chart a course for the next five years.

The event brought together local and global business leaders, public officials, entrepreneurs, and industry experts to explore opportunities, forge partnerships, and drive sustainable economic growth in Ghana and the African continent through the framework of the Return initiatives.

"Beyond the Return" has been a pivotal program under the NPP government, following the success of its predecessor, the "Year of Return." It has not only boosted tourism but also fostered cultural exchanges and economic growth, positioning Ghana as a hub for the African diaspora.

The future of this initiative now hangs in the balance, but voices like Bernard Avle's underscore its importance and call for its sustainability under Ghana’s next leadership.
