Esteemed journalist Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has strongly criticized Bishop Salifu Amoako’s statement, "My son didn’t kill anyone with a gun," labeling it as both insensitive and irresponsible.

On October 12, 2024, Bishop Salifu Amoako's 16-year-old son was involved in a tragic accident at East Legon, which led to the deaths of two young girls. Following the incident, Bishop Amoako appealed for calm and urged Ghanaians to refrain from speculating. Addressing his congregation, he emphasized that it was an accident, not an intentional crime, and defended his son, stating, “My son did not carry a gun to kill anybody. He was involved in a terrible accident, and it’s my name that has caused all this talk.”

In response to Bishop Amoako’s remarks, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo condemned the statement as thoughtless and misguided. The journalist argued that the Bishop’s approach reflects a lack of awareness regarding the situation’s legal implications.

“I’m not sure who advises him or if he’s being advised at all,” Arnold remarked during a discussion on UTV’s United Showbiz. “This matter is already in court, and anything said publicly could be used as evidence. Whoever is guiding him didn’t provide proper counsel because his words could be detrimental in court.”

Arnold further criticized some of Bishop Salifu's friends and associates who, due to their personal ties, have been supportive of the Bishop’s stance. He expressed frustration over their behavior, describing it as troubling, unsettling, and aggravating.
