Bola Ray and Rashida Saani Award GHC30,000 to Emerging Entrepreneur in Inspiring Pitch Competition
In a remarkable display of entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to youth potential, Rashida Saani, Founder of The Ghana Report, transformed her recent mentorship session with the Entrepreneurship with Bola Ray (EwithBR) Cohort Two into a life-changing opportunity for one exceptional young businesswoman.
During her session titled "Complete Communication: A Requirement for Effective Business Pitch," Saani challenged each mentee to deliver a compelling one-minute business presentation, promising instant funding for the most impressive pitch.
The competition culminated with Daisy-Alcie Mawuena Zigre, CEO of DMD Catering Services, emerging as the standout winner.
Her business concept, distinguished by a strong Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) component, focuses on training young women in catering and baking while providing seed capital to launch their entrepreneurial journeys.
"Today is going to be very different. I'm going to learn from you as well, and trust me, there is going to be a great impact," Saani declared at the session's outset, setting an inspirational tone that soon translated into tangible support.
The unexpected appearance of Bola Ray, the visionary behind the project, added further excitement to the proceedings. Saani promptly informed him of her intention to fund one of the mentees, emphasizing the program's commitment to practical entrepreneurship development.
Bola Ray praised her approach, describing Saani as "filled with immense knowledge and wealth" and commending her for going "the extra mile" to directly support young entrepreneurs.
The BR Institute has been tasked with monitoring the fund's utilization, ensuring that Zigre's entrepreneurial vision receives proper guidance and support.
Rashida reflected on the project, capturing its essence: "The fact that [Bola Ray] doesn't just do it for himself, but ensures young people have a fair benefit from his life of substance, is highly commendable."
This transformative moment underscores the Entrepreneurship with Bola Ray program's core mission: bridging theoretical knowledge with practical opportunities and providing tangible pathways for aspiring entrepreneurs to realize their business dreams.
The GHC30,000 grant to DMD Catering Services represents more than a financial investment; it symbolizes a broader commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talent and creating sustainable economic opportunities for Ghana's youth.
