Grow, Unite Build Africa (GUBA), will celebrate its fifteenth Anniversary Reception at the Commonwealth Secretariat in the City of London, on November 29th this year.
Themed, “African Excellence; GUBA’s 15-year Journey”, the reception will bring together former GUBA award winners, highlight the impact of GUBA's work and set out future plans for the GUBA brand.
This year’s event is a double win for London, as the previous Award ceremony was held in the city at JW Marriott Grosvenor House Park Lane.
Commenting on the upcoming anniversary reception, Founder and President of GUBA Enterprise, Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE, said, “we go back home again, to where GUBA Awards started fifteen years ago. This year’s event will be different with a touch of elegance but with the same brand values and a renewed commitment to Grow Unite Build Africa”.
She said this year’s event will also provide an opportunity to network and celebrate GUBA’s past honourees and awardees with the presentation of crystal anniversary awards.
According to Lady Dentaa, five high profile personalities will be honoured at the event.
“We want to continue impacting the world positively and encouraging members of the community to continue to thrive in all they do. This is the reason why GUBA celebrates resilience and fortitude of our Awardees” Lady Dentaa said in the last few years, Accra, Kigali and New York have also hosted the GUBA Awards.
GUBA Awards is a Pan-African business and innovation awards that recognizes individuals in various sectors including media, finance, business, and entertainment.
Last year, the Awards celebrated and honoured individuals who have distinguished themselves in Business, Technology and Innovation with categories including, Creative Influencer of the Year, Young Achiever Award, Environmental Sustainability Award, Young Commonwealth Leader, Visual Artist of the Year, Personality of the Year and Climate Change Award.
Designed to highlight the most inspirational and trailblazing individuals within Africa and its diaspora community, the GUBA Awards has gained endorsements from distinguished and high-profile individuals including H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo (President of Ghana), H.E Jean-Claude Kassi Brou (The President of the ECOWAS Commission) and may more.
Previous GUBA awardees include Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Harvey Mason Jr. (CEO, Grammy Awards), Dr. Natalia Kanem, Dr. Diane Karusisi, Vice President Epsy Campbell Barr, and Sir Sam Jonah (Executive Chairman, Jonah Capital), Patrick Awuah (Founder of Ashesi University, Ghana), Former Chief Marketing Officer of Netflix, Bozoma Saint John and CEO of Sundial Brands Richileu Dennis.
