Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong, a renowned agricultural leader, has been awarded a cash prize of 1 million cedis as part of the 2024 Best Farmer Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the country's agricultural sector and his efforts in promoting sustainable farming practices.
Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong, a 70-year-old farmer from Sekyere Central in the Ashanti Region, was named the 2024 National Best Farmer.
Having embarked on his farming journey five decades ago, Nana Owusu now owns North American Farms, where he employs 168 workers in cultivating a variety of crops, including cocoa and cashew.
As part of his recognition, he was awarded a prize of one million Ghana cedis.
In his speech at the Farmers Day celebration on November 8, Nana Owusu emphasized the need for greater focus on food security.
The celebration, which took place nationwide, honored farmers for their hard work and significant contributions to the country’s economy.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, along with other prominent figures, attended the event.
