Embattled Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has issued an unequivocal apologies to Joy FM and the media for his recent harsh attacks on them.

He cited his banter with Joy FM's news anchor Kwadwo Brace, as well as later charges that the radio station was doing the opposition National Democratic Congress' bidding by repeatedly referring to him as Minority Leader.

Afenyo-Markin recently launched a harsh attack on the media house, branding it as an NDC appendage.

"I sincerely apologise for what transpired on the live performance and during the press conference. I had no intention of casting aspersions on them.

"I acknowledge I went too far and sincerely apologise.

"I could have handled things better, and I apologise," Afenyo-Markin said on Peace FM in Accra on Monday.

Mr Afenyo-Markin’s outburst came after JoyNews reported on the Speaker of Parliament’s declaration of four vacant parliamentary seats, a move that has sparked controversy.

The MP accused the station of “mischief and misinformation,” but some analysts argued that the radio station was merely fulfilling its duty of informing the public through factual reporting.
