In the ongoing 2024 election, Stephen Amoah, the Ashanti Region's Member of Parliament for the Nhyiaeso Constituency, was seen on video observing a voter's ballot. Accra-based TV3 posted a video on X showing the Deputy Finance Minister holding his ballot paper, ready to cast his vote.
He spontaneously extended his neck in what is thought to be an attempt to glimpse a ballot from a close voter. Social media users have responded to the video in a variety of ways, pointing to the electoral laws' definition of a secret ballot.
