After the current leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, was nominated as Minister of Finance Designate, the Minority Leader, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, asserted that the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bawku Central will be the next Majority Leader. Speaking on the floor of Parliament on Thursday, January 9, 2024, Afenyo-Markin also asserted that Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, who will be appointed Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, will be replaced as Deputy Majority Leader by the MP for Cape Coast South. The Minority Leader further claimed that Kwame Governs Agbodza, who he says will also be nominated, will be replaced as Majority Chief Whip by the Member of Parliament for South Dayi.
