A well-known member of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) publicity team, Frederick Kofi Ameyaw, has praised Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as Ghana's Fourth Republic's most successful vice president. Speaking on TV3's NewDay program, where Ningo-Prampram Member of Parliament Sam George was also in attendance, Kofi Ameyaw adamantly defended Dr. Bawumia's achievements against recent criticism.
Using instances of the Vice-President's pledges that, in his opinion, had not been kept, Sam George had characterized Dr. Bawumia as dishonest and unfaithful. Kofi Ameyaw countered that while Sam George's viewpoint is legitimate as a personal opinion, it is not consistent with the larger facts about Dr. Bawumia's influence for the advancement of the country.
Kofi Ameyaw emphasized Dr. Bawumia's accomplishments and the Vice-President's fulfillment of his pledge to use technology to enhance governance and daily life. The Ghana Card's debut as a tool for easy identification and international travel is a perfect example. "I've seen Ghanaians travel with the Ghana Card even when their passports are expired. "This is a huge accomplishment," Ameyaw said. He went on to discuss other noteworthy accomplishments, including the paperless port system, the digital addressing system, and the interoperability of mobile money platforms. According to Ameyaw, these efforts have strengthened Ghana's position as a regional leader in digital transformation while also improving the effectiveness of public service delivery.
The Vice-President Dr. Bawumia is a visionary who keeps his word. Instead of merely criticizing, he provides creative ideas that affect Ghanaians' daily life, Ameyaw claimed. The heated yet friendly conversation took into account the varying opinions of the vice president's legacy. The NPP believes that Dr. Bawumia's term has been revolutionary, especially in propelling Ghana's digital revolution, as Kofi Ameyaw's defense shown, even though Sam George continued to be crucial.
