In the Ghanaian entertainment industry, Abdul Razak Issahaku, also known as Iwan Suhyini, has stated that he has nothing against other artists, such as Kofi KInaata, taking home the Reggae Song of the Year award.
Kofi Kinaata stated he had no issues, even if some people were upset that he won the reggae category at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
Iwan Suhyini stated in an interview with Cape Coast-based Property FM that Kofi Kinaata's Effiakuma Love is deserving of the award and meets the requirements for it. "I don't see it as a problem when other artists from other genres win an award in the reggae and dancehall category," he said.
Not many Rastafarians are upset with Kofi Kinaata for winning the Reggae Song of the Year award, thus I don't mind whether the song falls under that genre's definition. He proposed that Effiakuma Love should receive the award if the song is eligible since "some of us listen to and follow music."
