Peace Watch Ghana Executive Director Madam Nyonkopa Daniels has demanded that retired ACP Dr. Benjamin Kwasi Agordzo be taken into custody right away. The retired officer's allegations that some police officers plan to lock up IGP George Akuffo Dampare's office if he is kept on as IGP are the reason she called. In an interview with TV3, the former officer stated that any attempt to retain the IGP will lead to significant internal strife because most officers want him replaced.
In response, Madam Daniels urged him to refrain from disparaging the IGP. He was a frustrated man who was out to destroy the IGP, according to her. "They have a sinister scheme to harm the IGP. For encouraging the police against the IGP, this man ought to be taken into custody and charged with a crime. Despite the IGP's best efforts, there are those who are planning to bring him down. He is acting out of pure jealousy against the IGP. When he was moved to the Transformation Unit, he ought to have turned in his record.
"He ought to give off feeling jealous and resentful of the IGP. When we were investing our resources in the National Democratic Congress, where was he? The NDC does not have you as a member. You're attempting to enter the NDC by force. I blame the stations for allowing him to disseminate misinformation about the IGP. The retired officer and other dissatisfied individuals should not be permitted to fabricate false accusations against the IGP in order to have him removed, Madam Nyonkopa Daniels told Rainbow Radio 87.5FM's Frontline.
"Do not speak," said Dr. Benjamin Kwasi Agordzo. Please stop talking, Dr. Benjamin Kwasi Agordzo. His Excellency John Dramani Mahama is not under your authority to come and give him orders. You can't come tell him what to do. "No police officers have any plans to barricade the IGP's office. The fraudulent claims are being made by you. There is no need to try to remove the IGP because he has performed so effectively. This man is frustrated, but the NDC leadership should ignore him. I shall defeat him if we cross paths. I will beat him cruelly if they set up a battle for the two of us," she continued.
