Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Ranking Member of the Appointments Committee of Parliament, has defended the committee's choice to screen Linda Ocloo, the Greater Accra Minister-designate, without posing any questions to gauge her qualifications for the role. A portion of Ghanaians have expressed strong disapproval of the Appointments Committee of Parliament, calling the screening procedure a farce. It is safe to say that Ghana's 9th Parliament held the quickest vetting session ever for the nominee. For fewer than ten minutes, the Shai-Osudoku Constituency Member of Parliament occupied the hot seat.
