After 24 years, the NDC wins the seat in Assin Central.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has won the parliamentary seat for Assin Central for the first time in 24 years. After serving the constituency for a number of years, Kennedy Agyapong, the current Member of Parliament, decided not to run for office.
However, Gofred Nti Anewu, the candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was unable to keep the seat for the ruling party.
