Akufo-Addo presents Bawumia with the "Order of the Star of Ghana Award" in recognition of him.

At the 2024 Ghana National Honors and Awards ceremony, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia received the esteemed Order of the Star of Ghana - Officer Award. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo presented the award, which acknowledges Dr. Bawumia's outstanding service, commitment, and contributions to the advancement of the country.
The ceremony, which took place at the Accra International Conference Centre, honored exceptional Ghanaians and organizations from a range of industries for their steadfast dedication to furthering the country's development. Widely praised for his economic acumen and leadership, Dr. Bawumia was recognized as a pivotal player in establishing Ghana's economic policies and leading the country's digital transformation projects. His acknowledgment highlights the important contribution he has made over the years to public service and government. The Officer rank denotes outstanding service in the public and private sectors, and the Order of the Star of Ghana is the highest national honor.
Along with Dr. Bawumia, important Akufo-Addo administration officials received recognition for their commitment to the country and their ministries. Among the recipients were Chief of Staff Frema Opare, Francis Asenso-Boakye, Minister of Roads and Highways, and Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister of Communications and Digitization.
