After completing an incredible journey on foot, Alhaji Yakubu Ayaana, a 65-year-old man from Kumasi, gained national attention. He personally congratulated former President John Mahama by walking from Kumasi to Accra. He was praised and lavishly rewarded for this extraordinary act of devotion on January 8, 2025, at a special gathering in Independence Square. With unyielding resolve, Alhaji Ayaana set out on his goal despite his advanced age and the physical difficulties of such a trek. Health issues deterred many, but he persisted because he believed in his mission. Ghanaians were moved by his efforts, and his tenacity was celebrated as a result.
With assistance from an unnamed patron, Kofi Okyere, the Creative President of Nineteen57 Clothing, planned the presentation of these presents. Speaking during the ceremony, Okyere said, "Your journey is a testament to the power of resilience and purpose," praising Alhaji Ayaana's perseverance. Alhaji Ayaana conveyed his sincere appreciation for the help and acknowledgment he got.
