Faustina Andoh-Kwofie, the Director-General of the Ghana Police Service's Criminal Investigation Department (CID), received a severe warning from Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for her actions and insistence on carrying out the recount of contested election results for the Nsawam-Adoagyire constituency. Due to disagreements among party members on the acceptability of some result sheets, the collation exercise, which was conducted in the Police Depot in Accra, turned tense and chaotic at one point. Suhum, Nsawam, Fanteakwa North, and Akwatia are the four constituencies in the Eastern Region whose results the Electoral Commission (EC) ordered to be recollected on December 12. There have been disagreements over these constituencies throughout the first collation process.

These disagreements were to be settled by the recollection, which started at the National Police Training School in Tesano, Accra. Disagreements between the NDC and the NPP, however, led to confusion and the process continued into a second day. Tensions increased on the second day of the exercise when the NDC voiced more worries regarding inconsistencies in the Electoral Commission's initial pink sheets. The NDC responded by obtaining a court order to stop the recollation process. Faustina Andoh-Kwofie, the Director-General of CID, was reportedly pressuring the parties to continue with the recollation effort in violation of the injunction.

Asiedu Nketiah warned the senior police officer during a news conference on Friday, December 13, 2024, about the possible repercussions of her behavior should she disregard the court order. The Electoral Commission has already received the injunction application. Daniel Nyamekye at the EC headquarters is the one who received the service. Although Dr. Bossman Asare has confirmed receiving the application, Faustina Andoh-Kwofie, the Director of CID, seems to be disregarding the procedure and has requested that the EC proceed. Andoh-Kwofie would be held accountable for her conduct if she permits the procedure to proceed, Asiedu Nketiah said.
