A group of New Patriotic Party (NPP) members were taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service at the Royal N Hotel in Pokuase Amanfrom. By thumbprinting several ballots in support of the NPP presidential candidate and the parliamentary candidates for the Amasaman and Trobu constituencies, they are said to have engaged in ballot fraud. The police conducted a quick operation after receiving a tip, which led to the arrests.
A biometric voter (BDV) machine, a printer, cash, and several laptops were among the important pieces of evidence that police officers confiscated during the operation. It is believed that these objects were utilized in the purported ballot stuffing scheme. The arrests were reported by on-scene observers as heated, with some people trying to avoid being apprehended. Nonetheless, the cops kept everything under control and took the material and suspects to the station for additional examination.
