In an exclusive interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika, Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale disclosed that his former manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bulldog, enjoys litigation because his home is close to a court. The Already hitmaker also discussed a recent lawsuit that the former manager had filed against him, claiming that Bulldog was there to enforce an out-of-court settlement agreement that the two had reached nearly a year ago after the defamation lawsuit.
He disclosed that he (Shatta Wale) had yet to uphold the parties' agreement to reach an out-of-court settlement. When asked why he hadn't yet fulfilled the arrangement, Shatta Wale replied that Bulldog wasn't present when his team needed to pay. He also disclosed his opinion that Bulldog's attempt to reappear in court is predicated on malice.
No other cause of action exists. All Bulldog wants is his money. When we tried to pay him, he wasn't in Ghana. You see, Bulldog wakes up and goes to the court whenever he feels like it. If this is the house, then this is the court. He goes to court when a fowl clucks. Because his house is adjacent to the court, a taxi driver who honks his horn goes to court," he said.
Bulldog filed a defamation lawsuit against his former artist in the final quarter of 2022. This came after the musician vowed to reveal his purported secret about the passing of several people, including the late artiste manager Fennec Okyere. The attorneys for the parties reached an agreement to resolve the defamation complaint out of court in March 2023, one year later. This was disclosed by Bulldog's attorney, Justice Srem Sai, at their court appearance on Tuesday, March 7. But Shatta Wale still hasn't fulfilled his pledge to give Bulldog and his attorneys the GHC 100,000 agreed-upon legal fee.
