Nana Akwasi Agyeman IV, the Paramount Chief of Lower Dixcove, has denied allegations made by Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, the former Western Regional Minister, that the contentious Akufo-Addo statue in front of the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital in Sekondi was provided by the Western Region's chiefs. In November 2024, while on a thank-you visit of the area, the former president unveiled the statue. Speaking to a radio station in Takoradi, Nana Akwasi Agyeman, who witnessed the unveiling, explained that Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah ambushed him to attend the event even though he was not aware of the statue's existence. Since we chiefs have been subjected to so many insults, I honestly pledged not to speak on the monument issue. Nana Akwasi Agyeman here attests to the fact that the statue
