Group Ndoum's founder and president, Papa Kwesi Ndoum, has publicly acknowledged his admiration and gratitude for former President John Dramani Mahama's achievements to Ghana, particularly in the areas of economic assistance and employment creation. Mahama is running for reelection as the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) current flagbearer. Ndoum praised Mahama's significant efforts in spite of their political disagreements, emphasizing that leaders of all parties should honor and celebrate constructive achievements.
Mahama's concrete attempts to provide jobs for Ghanaians, a pressing issue in the nation, were commended by Ndoum. Considerable efforts were made to boost the local economy and create jobs under Mahama's presidency. According to Ndoum, as a business leader, Mahama's administration never put up needless barriers against him; rather, Mahama valued Group Ndoum's contributions to the country's employment rates. Ndoum argued that this relationship is indicative of a more developed political strategy in which leaders put the interests of the country ahead of partisan disputes.
“Even in a speech, he (Mahama) publicly acknowledged that Group Ndoum, meaning myself, has been providing jobs and investing in creating employment in this country,” Ndoum said. Ndoum's remarks coincide with speculation that he may be backing the NDC in the next elections. But he made it clear that his position is based more on a respect for constructive ideas than on political loyalty. "If someone has done something that I appreciate, I will say so," Ndoum emphasized.
This remark highlights the need of recognizing effective leadership abilities regardless of political resistance. Ndoum's remarks draw attention to a viewpoint that is sometimes disregarded in political circles: the necessity of valuing leaders who make significant contributions to the advancement of the country. His words serve as a reminder that acknowledging one another's endeavors can promote harmony and support sustained national development.
