Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, has come under heavy fire from broadcast journalist Bridget Otoo for his recent remarks regarding working with the administration of former President John Mahama.
The new force's founder and head, Cheddar, praised Mahama's outlook for Ghana's future and said he was prepared to cooperate with his administration to ensure the prosperity of the nation. Cheddar underlined in his public remarks how crucial unity is to Ghana's progress. He maintained that all parties must work together to address Ghana's problems rather than relying just on one party or group to do it. He commended Alan Kyeremanten's political action, saying he thinks it helped forward Mahama's revolutionary ambitions for the nation.
Building a united Ghana where brilliant minds collaborate without selfishness or jealously is what Cheddar asked for. However, Cheddar's statement did not impress Bridget Otoo. On the social media site X, she brought up Cheddar's earlier contentious assertions that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was funding the Galamsey demonstrations. Cheddar was retaliated against by Otoo, a well-known critic, who said, "The NDC sponsored the Galamsey protests. He should find a more credulous group to con!" Social media users' responses to her statement were not quite unanimous. Some backed Cheddar's ideas on progress and unity, while others echoed her scathing critique.
The ongoing political tensions in Ghana, especially the contentious issues surrounding the Galamsey protests and political alliances, were brought to light by Otoo's remarks. Although Cheddar's remarks regarding cooperation and togetherness might have been meant to promote harmony and advancement for Ghana, Otoo's reaction exposes the profound mistrust that exists among some prominent people. Her claim that Cheddar is trying to mislead Ghanaians highlights the suspicion that some people have of political claims and assurances.
