Efia Odo, a Ghanaian socialite, actress, and media personality who was born Andrea Owusu, sparked discussion with her candid opinions about relationship submission.
By stating that women's subordination should not be assumed but rather earned by men who live up to specific expectations, the outspoken media personality is questioning conventional wisdom.
Odo outlined her standards for a man deserving of submission in a recent edition of her well-liked podcast Rants and Bants, stressing the value of accountability and individual development.
"A man needs to be responsible to a certain extent before I can submit to him. You must be a provider, a self-respecting man, and someone I can develop and learn from," she remarked.
True leadership from a guy naturally generates submission from women, according to the former Eats Avenue co-owner.
"If the man is acting in the proper manner, why wouldn't a woman submit?" She questioned, implying that when a man leads well, others will naturally want to submit.
Addressing what she perceives as irrational demands in partnerships, Efia Odo questioned the reasoning of men who demand subordination without proving their own value.
What makes you think a woman would submit to a guy who isn't doing anything? It's incomprehensible," she pondered.
