Following victories in three crucial battleground states, referred to as the swing states, former US President Donald Trump declared victory in the 2024 US presidential election on Wednesday. According to current trends, Trump is expected to receive 266 of the 538 electoral votes, whereas the polls require 270. Kamala Harris, his Democratic opponent, is far behind him at 224. The votes cast in US states that go to the candidate who receives the state's popular vote are known as electoral votes. Even when a candidate wins by a slim margin, the US usually uses the "winner takes all" approach for allocating electoral votes.
North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania are three crucial states that Trump has won. Donald Trump stated the following five points in his "victory" speech:

1) After being predicted to win by numerous news outlets, Trump delivered his election night speech to his supporters in Florida. Trump claimed that the nation would "heal" as a result of his triumph.

2) "I would like to express my gratitude to the American people for offering me the incredible honor of serving as both your 45th and 47th president."

3) "With every breath I have, I will fight for you, and I will not stop until we have created a strong, secure, and prosperous America."

4) "I've heard from a lot of people that God spared my life for a reason. In reference to the July assassination attempt on him at an election rally, he stated, "That reason was to save our country and to restore America to greatness."

5) "This work is excellent. Such a job does not exist. This is the world's most important job.
At the same gathering, JD Vance, his running mate and possible future US vice president, also celebrated Trump's win, calling it the "greatest political comeback in the history of the United States of America." Vance pledged to guide the nation through its most significant economic recovery and declared that the new US administration will never give up on the people and their aspirations.
