Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, has called on Emeafa Hardcastle, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission, to issue a public apology and withdraw remarks that were reportedly made against Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the Minority Chief Whip. When the Appointments Committee temporarily recessed, the problem surfaced prior to the screening of Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister-Designate for Defense. He urged the Minority Chief Whip not to worsen the matter and demanded that Hardcastle issue a public apology. "The Minority Whip's legitimate request about conduct implies harming his standing as an elected member of Parliament. After listening to him, Mr. Speaker, we can only urge him to agree with the Hon. MP of Damongo that this house must condemn the behavior and demand an apology for it, but to convince our colleague not to pursue it further in order to have this matter settled at the Privileges
