Following a distressing incident while traveling, veteran artist Mzbel has once again expressed doubts about the Ghana Card's efficacy. Ghana Web reports that the vocal supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) expressed her displeasure with the card as a purported identity solution in a social media video. Mzbel, who was trying to bring her two kids back to Ghana from an unidentified country, revealed that she had lost the handbag that included her passport and other important paperwork. She tried to resolve the matter by presenting her Ghana Card, but airport officials would not let her board the aircraft. "I was left stranded because they told me the Ghana Card wasn’t enough for the necessary processes," Mzbel stated. "How does that
She also described how she tried in vain to settle the issue with the local government before seeking help from the Ghanaian embassy. The singer's annoyance underscores persistent doubts regarding the Ghana Card's dependability and usefulness, even though departing Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia hailed it as a revolutionary development in governance. Mzbel remarked, "This is the same card Bawumia claimed could be used for anything." "So, why couldn't I use it in this circumstance?"
The controversy about the Ghana Card's practical effectiveness has been rekindled by Mzbel's experience and her incisive comments, particularly in urgent circumstances where identification is necessary. Bawumia's loss in the 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary also occurred at the same time as the incident, which fueled more debate over the card's alleged advantages.
