On November 21, 2024, Sylvia Patience Baah, the Airport Services Manager of Emirates Airlines in Accra, was abducted at the door of her home. She was safely freed by the Ghana Police Service. The police confirmed her safe return to her family on November 23, 2024, when they announced her rescue. A group of medical specialists and behavioral psychologists have been tasked with helping Baah and her family get well after her rescue. Despite the terrible event, the victim and her family are in excellent spirits, according to Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), who spoke with them directly.
To find the people who committed the kidnapping, a manhunt is currently under progress. The public has received assurances from the IGP that the accused will be held accountable. He also thanked those who contributed vital information during the operation, saying: "We would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who gave us pieces of information in the course of our rescue operations in particular and the public in general for their support and cooperation."
