Speaking to the victims, Dr. Bawumia said that the tragic event had a negative impact on vice president as well as victims.
He says he couldn't sit there and not witness things with his own eyes, even though the other NPP leaders had been to the area.
He promised the victims that he would try his hardest to restore the market even if he would not be Ghana's vice president going forward.
Being a digital man, he said, he would set up CCTV cameras at the market to make sure that everything that took place behind closed doors could be made public.
