Sammy Adu Gyamfi, a Ghanaian politician and lawyer who is currently the National Democratic Congress's National Communications Officer, made a live broadcast statement that has generated a lot of controversy and conflicting responses from Ghanaians. While some would support his statement, others will argue that it was savage and a total display of disdain.
When Sammy Gyamfi appeared on the Metro TV Morning Show, he said that he would quickly leave paradise if he were to meet Ghana's president, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, and vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. This was his statement about the topic of illicit mining, or "galamsey," which was being covered on the broadcast.
The current government, led by Akuffo Addo and Bawumia, has done a bad job of handling the problem of illicit mining and the galamsey scourge that is threatening our natural resources, including our land, vegetation, and water bodies. The majority of our beloved water bodies have thus been reduced to rubble with little prospect of recovery. This statement was made by Sammy Gyamfi as a result of his poor management.
