Sam George, the Minister-Designate for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, has not taken back his claims that the Akufo-Addo administration embezzled money from the people despite its pledge to safeguard the public coffers. The candidate claims he still stands by his remarks despite the minority asking him more than 100 questions and Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the minority leader, exposing him to films, audios, and social media posts. He insisted that the remarks were not offensive and that he would never take them down. The remarks were made by the 2024 nominee during an interview that he gave to GhOne television. "The Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government did not steal from the purse; they told the purse itself," he stated in the aforementioned remarks.
He requested that the Chair and the Vetting Committee give him more time to present more than 700 scandals to back up his claims when he was asked if he still stands by the remarks he made yesterday. In response, Chairman Richard Ahiafor stated that the nominees could not be given the option to present the evidence orally and that he should provide the committee with the material that was required. The chairman refused to change his decision, despite the minority's insistence that he do so verbally.
