Unknown people in Ashaiman Katamanso, in the Greater Accra Region, have burned to death a suspected armed robber. The incident happened early on Thursday, December 12, after the suspect allegedly stole a flat-screen TV and a standing fan. According to a neighborhood resident named Vifa, the suspect broke into a house between 1:00 and 2:00 in the morning while the inhabitants were not there.
Later, the stolen goods were discovered close to the burned body of the suspect. Although the offenders' identity are still unknown, locals surmise that the crime might be a reaction to their mounting annoyance at the regular robberies in the neighborhood. Investigations are being conducted to identify the individuals involved for the incident, and the body has been removed and taken to the mortuary.
